Bad Bunny Merch Origins

Bad Bunny was born as Santiago Velandia Arango in Medellín, Colombia in 1993. He started rapping at the young age of 10 and eventually found himself signed to Colombia’s most popular record label at the time, Sony Music Colombia. In 2013, he released his first album titled Más allá de la música. The following year, he collaborated with fellow Colombian superstar J Balvin on their hit single “Mi gente.” In 2015, Bad Bunny released another album called Fuego Flamenco which featured collaborations with Maluma, Willy William, Chino y Nacho and Farruko among others. That same year he also starred alongside Don Omar in the hit telenovela Los Ángeles Negros.

The popularity of Bad Bunny merch can be partly attributed to its unique design elements and catchy music videos. His videos are often comedic and feature scenes that are reminiscent of classic gangster movies such as Scarface and Goodfellas.

How did you become a member of the Bad Bunny team?

I became a part of the Bad Bunny team when I was hired to be their social media manager in January of 2018. Prior to that, I had been working as a content creator and social media strategist for other brands in the music industry. When I was contacted about the position with Bad Bunny, I knew it would be a great opportunity to work with such an iconic brand.

Since joining the team, my main focus has been on creating content that helps promote and grow the brand’s presence online. I’ve also worked hard to create relationships with key influencers and bloggers so that we can spread the word about Bad Bunny in a positive way. In addition to all of this work, I also manage all of our social media accounts and work closely with our marketing team to develop new strategies for growing our audience.

Overall, my experience working at Bad Bunny has been incredible. The team is extremely supportive and cooperative which has allowed me to achieve great things. I’m grateful for everything that this job has taught me so far and am confident that it will continue to do so in the future.

Why did you decide to design merchandise?

As a rap artist, Bad Bunny has always been committed to giving back to his fans. In 2017, he announced the launch of his own merchandise line called BAD BUNNY MERCH. The line is designed to give back to the community and support various causes that he feels strongly about.

One of the main reasons Bad Bunny decided to create his own merchandise line was because he felt that artists shouldn’t have to rely on others for their income. “It’s important that we maintain our creative control and put our stamp on everything we do,” he says. “That’s why I partnered up with my team at MYSTIQUE COLLECTIVE and created BAD BUNNY MERCH – a line that celebrates creativity, self-expression, and giving back.”

Bad Bunny Merchandise is available online and in select stores across the U.S. The line features apparel, accessories, and home goods inspired by Bad Bunny’s unique style and commitment to giving back to his community.

What is your favorite piece of merchandise that you have designed so far?

As a designer, there are many pieces of merchandise that I love designing. Some are more personal to me than others, but regardless of their sentimental value, each one of my designs has a specific purpose or goal in mind.

One of my favorite designs is the “Bad Bunny” T-Shirt. The shirt was created as a homage to the late Notorious B.I.G., and it’s been extremely popular with both hardcore fans of Bad Bunny and those who simply enjoy a good laugh.

Beyond being just a fun piece of apparel, the “Bad Bunny” T-shirt also serves as a powerful symbol for resistance and self-expression. In recent years, there have been countless artists and musicians killed for speaking out against injustices in the world, and it’s important that we continue to support them by wearing their message on our sleeves (or chests).

There are countless other designs that I love, but “Bad Bunny” holds a special place in my heart because it’s such an unique representation of my creative vision. I’m excited to see how this shirt continues to grow and evolve over time, and I know that tons of other fans will be along for the ride!

What are some of your personal goals and aspirations for the future as a Bad Bunny fan?

As a Bad Bunny fan, I have many personal goals and aspirations for the future as a fan. Some of my goals include becoming more knowledgeable about all things Bad Bunny, supporting his music and career whenever possible, and meeting him in person one day! Beyond being a superfan, I also want to be an advocate for mental health awareness and self-care. With that in mind, I’m excited to participate in the #MentalHealthMonth campaign this October by releasing an EP titled “Blueprint” that tackles these topics head on.

In terms of my personal aspirations as a fan, I would love to see Bad Bunny collaborate with other artists and create some truly groundbreaking music. Beyond that, I hope to continue advocating for mental health awareness and self-care through my work with Blueprint EP and help make a difference in the lives of others who are struggling.
